About this course

The WebEOC Bootcamp Part 2: Administration and Design Studio course assists clients in developing and maintaining proficiency in WebEOC system administration and basic WebEOC board building tasks in DesignStudio.  This 2-day, class will combine classroom presentation and hands-on exercise delivery methods to help students grasp and understand the processes, methods and tasks associated with administering WebEOC, and building basic boards in DesignStudio.  After completing this intensive class, students will be prepared to serve as WebEOC Administrators in their organization as well as build boards to be published to their agency’s WebEOC instance.

Schedule: This class may be presented over 2 consecutive days for 4.5 Hours each day from 9:00am until 1:30pm (Eastern), 12:00pm until 4:30pm (Eastern) or 3 consecutive days for 3 hours each day from 1:00pm - 4:00pm (Eastern) utilizing Zoom. Prerequisite: You must complete WebEOC Bootcamp Part 1: Administrator Essentials (On-Demand Learning) in order to register for Part 2. 

Equipment Requirements: Computers with internet access and 2 monitors are required. One monitor will be used to watch the instructor's presentation. The other monitor will be use by the student for assignments.  Two computers can be used if needed.

Module 1: WebEOC Administration

Performance Based Learning Outcomes

At the end of this module the student will be able to perform the following functions:

  • Ability to explain the difference between Feature Groups and Organizational Groups
  • Create and manage features in the system
  • Create and manage Users, Positions, Groups, and Incidents to control access to WebEOC
  • Create and manage boards, links, lists and reports
  • Set Administrative settings
  • Set security permissions/profiles

Module 2.1: Introduction to Requirements Gathering and DesignStudio

At the end of this module the student will be able to perform the following functions:

  • Ability to conduct a requirement gathering workshop
  • Collect the necessary requirements to build out a board
  • Plan a Status Board
  • Ability to utilize DesignStudio basic board building techniques

Module 2.2: Practical Exercises

At the end of this module the student will be able to perform the following functions:

  • Create an Input View in DesignStudio
  • Create a List View in DesignStudio
  • Create a Details View in DesignStudio
  • Create a Delete View in DesignStudio
  • Publish and Test a newly build board 

Required Student Minimum: Juvare requires a minimum of four (4) students to be enrolled in a class at least 14 days prior to the start of the course or the course may be cancelled.  Those registered in a cancelled course will have their registrations moved to the next scheduled offering of the course. 

Requirements for Successful Completion of Course: Instructors will advise participants at the beginning of the session that assessments of individual learning will take place during each segment of the class. This assessment will usually consist of the student demonstrating understanding of the material presented by completing a short exercise (on the computer). Assessments can also consist of appropriate verbal feedback from the student indicating understanding of the material presented. In addition to the assessments, to receive a Course Completion Certificate, a participant must attend at least 90% of the class. Our goal is to have 100% attendance. If participants miss a short segment, they will be required to make up the work and demonstrate achievement of the outcome(s) to meet course attendance requirements. Participants absent for more than 10% of the course, and who do not make up the course work, will not receive a Course Completion Certificate. (Participants must address the absence with the instructor and make-up the work prior to the end of the course.) Instructor will conduct a roll call or introduction as proof of attendance for each class. Participants are required to answer roll call at the beginning of each class day.  Students who fail to answer roll call do not receive credit for the course.

Please ensure you are registering for Day 1 and Day 2 in consecutive days and during the same week. Registrations that span multiple weeks will not be approved.  
Once you register for Day 1 and Day 2, please return to this course on the day of your scheduled training to Launch your Zoom Event.
